Job Description

Summary

The Laboratory Repair Technician supports advanced radar system programs by performing complex electronic builds, testing, troubleshooting, and depot-level repairs. This role focuses on RF, microwave, and radar subsystem components while ensuring strict compliance with Navy and DoD technical standards in a high reliability laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and radar system components down to the component level.
  • Execute miniature and microminiature repairs including pad replacement, trace repair, conductor reconstruction, and precision soldering on high density printed circuit boards.
  • Diagnose faults within radar signal processing modules, RF front ends, power distribution units, transmit receive modules, and related line replaceable units.
  • Utilize advanced electronic test equipment to validate radar performance and signal integrity.
  • Support production, sustainment, and return for repair activities by documenting diagnostics, corrective actions, and repair results.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory test equipment and radar test stations in accordance with established schedules.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and test equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with assembly, engineering, and program teams to support production schedules and quality objectives.
  • Interpret and follow Navy technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and depot level repair documentation.
  • Maintain accurate repair logs, RFI tracking updates, and compliance documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with an associate degree in electronic technology preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an electronic or test technician in a radar, RF, or defense maintenance environment.
  • Strong experience with electronic testing, troubleshooting, and depot level diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in miniature and microminiature soldering techniques with 2M certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Working knowledge of analog, digital, RF, and microwave electronics.
  • Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and radar system documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability, and adherence to ESD and safety protocols.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
