Job Description

Summary

The Systems Engineer (Data Protection) supports enterprise initiatives by implementing scalable data discovery, data mapping, and privacy-enhancing technologies. This role ensures accurate data inventories, automates operational workflows, and strengthens organizational data protection capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enhance data protection solutions including data discovery, data mapping, and data inventory automation.
  • Support engineering activities across Data Protection platforms such as OneTrust, BigID, ServiceNow, Archer, Symantec, or equivalent.
  • Develop APIs, integrations, and technical workflows using JSON, XML, SOAP, REST, and REGEX.
  • Build and test software components using Java or Python within agile development processes.
  • Execute testing, debugging, and validation for Data Protection platforms and related tools.
  • Maintain technical documentation for installation, operation, and maintenance of implemented solutions.
  • Conduct analysis to support privacy, security, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data protection capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in application software programming, OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 6+ years of experience in application software programming.
  • Experience with Data Protection technologies including OneTrust, BigID, ServiceNow, Archer, or Symantec.
  • Proficiency in Java or Python for engineering tasks.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and data inspection technologies.
  • Hands-on software development experience across the SDLC.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and secure engineering practices.
