Summary
The Noise and Vibration Performance Engineer is responsible for developing and integrating vehicle components and subsystems to meet defined noise and vibration performance targets. This role supports programs from early concept through production validation while ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate vehicles, subsystems, and components for noise and vibration performance using subjective and objective methods.
- Set up and operate instrumentation and data collection systems to measure noise and vibration performance.
- Develop and validate technical solutions to noise and vibration issues through testing and analysis.
- Create and execute vehicle test plans that balance performance, cost, mass, and program timing requirements.
- Analyze test data using frequency analysis and vibration analysis techniques.
- Collaborate with integration, manufacturing, and supplier teams to implement and validate design improvements.
- Support assembly plant activities during vehicle launch and resolve production performance issues.
- Participate in program meetings, testing events, and occasional travel to internal and external test facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Applied Physics, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of experience in vehicle performance, testing, calibration, or validation roles.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical system operation principles.
- High level analytical, problem solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and self motivation.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
- U.S. person status as defined by applicable regulations.
