Microsoft 365 Security Engineer

Job Description

Summary

The Microsoft 365 Security Engineer will design, implement, and support security solutions across Microsoft 365 environments. This role focuses on secure infrastructure design, configuration, and administration of Microsoft security products while supporting enterprise initiatives and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical IT engineering designs supporting infrastructure requirements.
• Analyze requirements and ensure technical infrastructure aligns with business needs.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support EUS and Digital Workplace initiatives.
• Support backlog assessment, capacity planning, and completion of technical tasks.
• Perform complex hardware, operating system, and subsystem resolutions.
• Analyze and revise system logic and documentation for infrastructure components.
• Recommend technical solutions to minimize risk and prevent system interruption.
• Perform change and problem management using standard tools.
• Measure performance, ensure operational compliance, and adhere to technical standards.
• Train technical staff on relevant tools and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with internal audit and security guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 security products, including DLP, IRM, Defender for Office 365, PIM, and Entra ID.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview features such as Information Protection, Records Management, Insider Risk, and Data Lifecycle Management.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise IT concepts, systems design, and security practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to support infrastructure planning, testing, and implementation.
• Familiarity with Agile, JIRA, and IT service management processes.
