Job Description

Summary

Our client is seeking a Lead Back-End Solutions Architect to define technical vision, drive solution architecture, and support large-scale modernization within a mortgage-focused enterprise environment. This role provides hands-on architectural leadership across microservices, data platforms, and cloud-native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain high-level solution intent, architecture roadmaps, and reference patterns for backend systems.
  • Establish architecture standards across microservices, data patterns, security, and cloud implementation.
  • Lead design sessions, guide technical teams, and ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution.
  • Support development of architectural runway for new features and capabilities.
  • Evaluate technical alternatives and emerging technologies to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Oversee solution delivery from design through deployment, ensuring adherence to functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Support incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and post-deployment evaluations.
  • Build reusable reference implementations and maintain the application design pattern catalog.
  • Partner with business architects, product owners, and enterprise architecture groups to ensure cohesive solution approaches.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations, RFP activities, and technical assessments for COTS integration.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on technical leadership experience as a Tech Lead or Solutions Architect.
  • Strong expertise in microservices architecture, security patterns, and enterprise solution design.
  • Background in mortgage industry systems and workflows.
  • Experience designing backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and PySpark.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, including relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Proven ability to guide development teams and align technical solutions with strategic objectives.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and enterprise-grade deployment models.
