Job Description

Summary

The EDVT Engineer will support end-to-end testing activities for state-of-the-art hardware within the Service Provider Business Unit, focusing on the Cisco 8000 product line. The role involves hands-on execution from concept through sustaining, collaborating closely with engineering and support teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of the hardware design, development, and testing team.
  • Execute EDVT test cycles from concept through sustaining phases.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering and support teams on hardware validation efforts.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, triage, and resolve technical issues.
  • Interpret and follow technical specifications, training materials, and documentation.
  • Perform hands-on setup, configuration, and validation of hardware systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledge of hardware fundamentals: CPU/microcontrollers, LVDS signaling, PCIe, USB, clocking, signal integrity, and power.
  • Knowledge of Cisco router/switch configurations and networking concepts (TCP/IP, L2/L3 switching).
  • Competency in Python or TCL scripting.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, thermal chambers, and digital-to-analog converters.
  • Hands-on proficiency with test setup and configuration.
