Job Description
Summary
The Senior Network Architect-SME will provide strategic leadership and subject matter expertise across service provider backbone, enterprise LAN/WAN, and DWDM environments. This role supports the design, modernization, and performance optimization of large-scale network architectures aligned with future-state objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with section leadership to evaluate, design, and test network architecture designs and roadmap services
- Lead the transition of approved designs and services to Operations and Security teams
- Provide subject matter expertise in service provider backbone, enterprise LAN/WAN, and DWDM technologies
- Strategically plan, architect, design, and enhance network and TIC services to meet performance and capacity goals
- Support software and hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
- Partner with security teams to meet security architecture and compliance requirements
- Maintain technical architecture documentation and support change management activities
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and support vulnerability remediation efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent commensurate experience
- CCIE certification with written and practical expertise
- Deep specialization in Cisco technologies including routing and switching, service provider, data center, and wireless
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
