Job Description
Summary
The Applications Architect supports the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of clinical and business applications that align with organizational strategy. This role provides technical and architectural leadership, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality application solutions across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the application development lifecycle including project scoping, documentation, and implementation planning
- Research, analyze, design, and deliver application solutions aligned with business and technology strategies
- Create application and project architecture deliverables following established standards and best practices
- Lead technical design sessions and ensure adherence to architecture principles
- Evaluate and recommend technical design decisions and solution approaches
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to anticipate future needs
- Communicate architectural decisions, costs, benefits, and implementation considerations to leadership
- Define and validate non-functional requirements and maintain traceability to architecture designs
- Contribute hands-on to development or configuration activities as needed
- Support integration strategy, scalability, availability, and user experience initiatives
- Mentor architects and contribute to architecture governance processes for senior-level responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience leading technical application projects for mid-level roles
- 5+ years of experience working directly with application suites on technical or workflow build and maintenance
- Core application proficiency across multiple functional areas
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Demonstrated experience coordinating project teams and deliverables
- Ability to manage projects from inception through successful implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software architecture for senior-level roles
- 7+ years of experience working directly with application suites for senior-level roles
- Experience mentoring architects and leading architecture governance processes
- Experience driving enterprise-wide integration strategies and technology adoption
- Strong understanding of vendor application infrastructure and data flow across systems
