Job Description
Summary
The Natural Adabas Developer/Analyst supports system analysis, development, and production support for mission-critical applications. This role focuses on designing, customizing, testing, and supporting software solutions in a mainframe environment while collaborating closely with project teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide system analysis, development, and production support as part of a project team
- Design functional and technical approaches to customize and enhance application functionality
- Develop software solutions using NATURAL and ADABAS in a mainframe environment
- Create and maintain JCL for batch processing and job control
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Facilitate requirement sessions with users and stakeholders
- Execute testing, support user testing, and provide post-implementation customer support
- Prepare documentation for system enhancements and software maintenance
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and maintainability
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions
- Report project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Natural Adabas development experience
- Strong proficiency with NATURAL and ADABAS development tools in a mainframe environment
- Proficiency in JCL
- Experience preparing technical and functional documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients
- Experience facilitating requirements sessions with user communities
- Ability to prepare detailed technical specifications
- Experience providing production and implementation support
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Collaborative mindset with a strong ethical foundation and accountability
