Job Description

Summary

The Lead Infrastructure Test Engineer provides testing leadership and automation expertise across multiple infrastructure initiatives. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions to improve application stability, quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand infrastructure designs to define testing scope and drive automation through Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Python, Ruby, and Shell scripting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams for test execution, reporting, and defect remediation
  • Perform manual testing for UI, APIs, and applications where automation is not applicable
  • Enhance automation frameworks with end-to-end testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to the evolution of infrastructure test automation architecture within Agile teams
  • Participate across project lifecycle phases including requirements review, risk assessment, and delivery tracking
  • Design test cases based on stories, epics, and functional requirements
  • Support QA activities including test approach definition, test execution, and reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of IT experience with strong automation scripting expertise
  • Proficiency in Python, Ruby, and Shell scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins CI/CD pipeline automation
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Solaris, or UNIX-based operating systems
  • Experience working with Agile development teams
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and understanding of business processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud automation using AWS, Google Cloud, or similar platforms
  • Manual API testing experience using Postman or automation tools
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools such as Git, Cucumber, JUnit, Jira, and CloudBees
  • Experience with Microfocus ALM for test management
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams in fast-paced environments
  • Experience creating testing strategies and automation design documents
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
