Job Description
Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will design, implement, and optimize press and automation systems supporting stamping operations. This role focuses on integrating new technologies, improving manufacturing performance, and driving continuous improvement across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, procure, integrate, and validate press and automation systems for stamping facilities.
- Perform engineering analysis of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including controls engineering and IT to define system requirements and improvements.
- Analyze existing systems to improve accuracy, reliability, throughput, and overall performance.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to press and automation issues.
- Support training of production staff on operation and maintenance of press and automation equipment.
- Maintain engineering documentation for system design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Work with suppliers, plant personnel, and engineering teams to implement cost reduction and manufacturing improvements.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and support personnel on assigned projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of experience developing and maintaining machinery and equipment in manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience coordinating design and construction activities in manufacturing facilities.
- Project management experience managing budgets, schedules, and multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft software including project planning tools.
- Experience using CAD systems for mechanical and manufacturing design.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and demonstrate strong problem solving skills.
