Network Engineer

Job Description

Summary

The Network Engineer II supports the implementation, maintenance, and reliability of enterprise network infrastructure. This role works closely with IT operations and security teams to ensure network performance, availability, and security across the organization. The position contributes to day-to-day operations and long-term network stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network-related projects and initiatives
• Implement and maintain network security controls including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls
• Perform network capacity planning and recommend enhancements
• Document network configurations, procedures, and changes
• Provide Tier II and Tier III support for escalated network issues
• Partner with operational technology teams to integrate OT equipment using segmented network designs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
• Five or more years of experience managing and deploying network devices
• Strong troubleshooting skills including packet capture analysis
• Experience with network segmentation to reduce risk to critical processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

LAN and WAN technologies, Routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems, VPN and network security technologies, Network segmentation and access controls & Enterprise networking hardware and software
