Job Description

Summary

This role creates cost-effective design layouts, models, and drawings that meet customer requirements. The CAD Designer supports engineering teams with mechanical and electrical modifications and contributes to product improvement and project execution. The position ensures adherence to CAD standards, documentation control, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create layouts, models, and drawings to support production
  • Support engineers with design of shelters, mechanical and electrical modifications, and ancillary installations
  • Participate in job kick-off meetings and customer design reviews
  • Review customer specifications and Statements of Work
  • Follow CAD standards, schedules, and budgets
  • Support CAD operators and review drawings for design accuracy
  • Follow configuration and documentation control requirements
  • Collaborate with other departments to support project needs
  • Contribute to product improvement and standardization initiatives
  • Assist with CAD estimates as required

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of technical training or equivalent experience
  • Three or more years of CAD design experience
  • Experience with 3D modeling
  • Advanced knowledge of Gichner products
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public
  • Ability to follow workplace rules and procedures
