Job Description
Summary
This role provides model-based systems engineering leadership supporting complex space and satellite ground system programs. The engineer develops system models, requirements, and documentation while guiding MBSE processes and collaborating closely with development, test, and customer teams. The position supports system analysis, training, and enterprise adoption of MBSE.
Key Responsibilities
- Use MBSE and SysML tools including Cameo or Enterprise Architect to model complex systems
- Develop SysML models focused on system decomposition, functions, interfaces, and performance
- Analyze, decompose, derive, and allocate system and subsystem requirements
- Promote and mature MBSE practices across programs and design teams
- Develop MBSE environments, processes, templates, and best practices
- Create training materials and support MBSE stakeholder training
- Develop operational models using frameworks including DoDAF, MoDAF, UPDM, and UAF
- Follow structured development processes and perform peer reviews
- Support proposals and presentation material development
Required Qualifications
- Ten or more years of engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- Experience supporting SRR, PDR, CDR, or equivalent reviews
- Five or more years of SysML experience
- Five or more years developing models with Cameo or similar tools
- Knowledge of space systems and satellite ground systems
- Experience with military space operations
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure including virtualization, cloud deployment, and containerization
- Sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
