Summary

The Director Application Support Engineering leads enterprise observability and application reliability functions for multiple technology domains. This role drives operational excellence, oversees global engineering teams, and ensures scalable, resilient platforms that support mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead onshore and offshore observability engineering teams to align with business and technical objectives
  • Approve and oversee JIRA, RITMs, and Change Requests to ensure compliant execution
  • Make architectural and design decisions for new observability capabilities
  • Conduct regular 1:1s for career development and performance management
  • Provide weekly progress updates to senior leadership
  • Participate in incident management, weekend releases, upgrades, and recovery events
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on annual budgets and secure sponsorship for strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale observability or application support functions
  • Strong understanding of ITSM processes including change, incident, and request management
  • Ability to lead distributed teams and manage complex technical programs
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills
  • Strategic planning, budgeting, and executive reporting experience
