Senior Snowflake Data Engineer

Job Description

Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-scale data pipelines and architecture. This role focuses on Snowflake, Databricks, and advanced data engineering practices to support enterprise analytics and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and maintain large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines across Snowflake and Databricks.
• Design end-to-end data architecture including ingestion, transformation, modeling, and governance.
• Implement secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data solutions aligned with best practices.
• Drive data modeling using dimensional, star, and snowflake schema techniques.
• Develop data lineage, quality controls, and monitoring frameworks.
• Optimize compute and storage costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to support reporting and visualization.
• Manage schema design, user roles, permissions, and access control.
• Contribute to solution architecture strategy and technical decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks.
• Proven ability to build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, system design, and modern data platforms.
• Expertise in data modeling and schema design methodologies.
• Proficiency in SQL for complex transformations and automation.
• Experience implementing data lineage, data quality, and monitoring processes.
• Knowledge of cost optimization strategies across cloud data ecosystems.
• Experience working with reporting tools such as Power BI or Sigma.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
