Job Description

Summary

Our client is seeking a highly experienced AS400 Synon Senior Developer with advanced CA/2E (Synon), COBOL/400, DB2400, and PBM domain knowledge. This role supports mission-critical adjudication, pricing, and benefit processing systems while providing technical leadership across onshore/offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret detailed functional and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with business and capability teams to refine specifications.
  • Design and develop scalable AS400/Synon-based solutions.
  • Build and optimize programs using CA/2E, COBOL/400, CLLE, and DB2400.
  • Support PBM domain workflows including adjudication, pricing, and accumulators.
  • Identify system optimization and performance improvements.
  • Lead and mentor developers in a distributed delivery model.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and CI/CD practices.
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders for requirement validation and solution alignment.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of CA/2E (Synon) hands-on development experience.
  • 8+ years of COBOL/400 and COBOL ILE development.
  • Strong expertise with iSeries/AS400, CLLE, SQL, DB2400, ACMS/MOM.
  • Deep functional experience in PBM: adjudication, pricing, accumulators, Medicare Part D, benefit design.
  • Experience leading onshore/offshore engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mid-range system issues.
