Summary

An experienced Senior Cerner CCL Designer & Developer responsible for leading complex design, development, optimization, and support of Cerner Millennium solutions. The role focuses on CCL programming, Cerner data model architecture, Discern reporting, system integrations, and workflow-aligned solution design. This position delivers high-impact technical expertise across clinical, operational, and financial domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and optimization of CCL programs, custom scripts, Discern reports, Discern Alerts, MPages data layer integration, and Cerner data migrations.
  • Develop and enhance rules, templates, event sets, queries, DQAs, and PowerInsight/HealtheAnalytics extracts.
  • Create operational, clinical, financial, and ad-hoc reports using CCL and Cerner reporting tools.
  • Analyze requirements and design solutions aligned with Cerner Millennium data models and workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance across Cerner modules including PowerChart, SurgiNet, RadNet, PharmNet, FirstNet, and PathNet.
  • Support interfaces using HL7, FHIR, and Cerner integration frameworks, including data mapping and validation.
  • Lead data conversion and migration activities during upgrades or new implementations.
  • Perform code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Provide Tier-3 support during go-live, optimization, and upgrade cycles.
  • Document standards and mentor junior developers while leading technical workstreams.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience developing Cerner CCL solutions in a Cerner Millennium environment.
  • Expertise in CCL scripting, Discern Reports, Discern Alerts, and CCL optimization.
  • Strong understanding of Cerner data models across clinical, financial, and operational areas.
  • Experience with PowerInsight/HealtheAnalytics extracts and CCL debugging.
  • Proficiency with SQL, relational databases, HL7, FHIR, and healthcare data standards.
  • Experience supporting multiple Cerner modules and clinical workflows.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills.
